Invoicing that gets you paid, not just invoiced.

Kalumo is invoicing software we built for South African small businesses: the plumber, the photographer, the consultant, the studio. Anyone who sends invoices and then spends too much of the month waiting for the money.

The problem it solves

Sending an invoice is easy. Getting paid is the hard part. Most owners chase late payers when they remember to and put off the awkward conversations until the amount hurts. Invoicing apps stop at the invoice. Kalumo carries on until the money is in the bank.

What it does

From the quote to the money in the bank, without the awkward calls.

Quotes and invoices in minutesProfessional quotes and tax invoices with SA VAT, your logo and your bank details, and a PayShap reference on every invoice so clients can pay instantly. A client accepts a quote online and it becomes an invoice.
Reminders that send themselvesA friendly heads-up before an invoice is due, then polite follow-ups after it, worded properly whether a client owes one invoice or five. Nobody has to remember to chase.
Chasing that knows when to stopWhen a client replies saying they've paid, the reply lands in Kalumo, the chasing pauses and you're told, so a good client is never nagged for money they've already sent. Before anything goes out, Kalumo checks with you that it's still owed.
Collections, handled with careWhen reminders get no answer, the client becomes a collections case: everything they owe, how overdue it is, every message sent and every promise made. Kalumo drafts a proper collection letter with your note on it, and tracks payment plans instalment by instalment.
Clients choose how they'll payFrom their invoice, a client can pick the date they'll pay, propose a payment plan, or say they've paid and upload proof. Each answer goes straight onto their account.
Recurring invoices on autopilotSet up a monthly retainer once, approve the first invoice, and Kalumo sends every one after that on time and tells you it went.
Statements every monthEach client with a balance gets a clear month-end statement: what was owed, what came in, what's still outstanding and how old it is.
WhatsApp, from your own number

The message is written. You just press send.

Kalumo fills in the real figures and opens the message in WhatsApp, ready to go from your phone. The conversation stays yours, and Kalumo notes that it went.

How it works day to day

An owner sends invoices, and Kalumo does the rest. Reminders go out on schedule, replies come back in, late payers move into collections with their history attached, and recurring clients are billed without anyone opening the app. The owner steps in only when it matters, to confirm a payment, approve a plan or make a call, and everything is ready when they do.

Free for a small business with up to five clients. Pro and Business plans grow with the business.

“I used to dread month-end because it meant phoning people for money. Now the reminders go out on their own, and the awkward calls just don't happen any more.”

What's next

Xero sync, so invoices and payments match the books without being typed twice, and team access, so a bookkeeper or office manager can work alongside the owner.
