Privacy policy
Last updated 17 October 2026
Stream Labs is a web studio based in Cape Town, South Africa. This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who is responsible
Stream Labs is the responsible party, and our information officer can be reached at hello@streamlabs.co.za.
What we collect and why
- Enquiry form: your name, email address, phone number, company and anything you tell us about your project. We use it only to reply to you and prepare a quote or proposal.
- Proposals: if we send you a proposal, the page records whether you accept or decline it and any comments you leave, so we can act on them.
- Emails you send us: handled in our inbox like any other business correspondence.
We do not use enquiries for marketing and never sell or share them for anyone else’s marketing.
Cookies and analytics
The public site sets no cookies unless you allow analytics. With your permission we use Google Analytics, which sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) to measure how visitors find and use the site, such as which pages are viewed and whether the enquiry form was sent. Google Analytics does not load at all unless you click Accept on the cookie notice. If you decline, nothing is sent to Google and the site works exactly the same. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, which removes the analytics cookies and asks again. Our admin area uses an essential sign-in cookie for staff only.
Who processes it for us
- Vercel — hosts the website.
- Neon — stores enquiries and proposal responses in a database in London, United Kingdom.
- Resend — delivers the notification email when you send an enquiry.
- Google — Google Analytics, only if you accept cookies.
Some of these providers process information outside South Africa, including in the United Kingdom, the European Union and the United States. Each is bound by data-protection terms that give protection comparable to POPIA.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact with you and then deleted. If you become a client, records needed for invoicing are kept for five years, as the law requires. Google Analytics data is kept for Google’s standard retention period.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use. Email hello@streamlabs.co.za and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, enquiry submissions are rate-limited, and the admin area requires a signed-in account.
